Operations
Four districts, one schedule.
Ameristar runs its rig schedule out of a single operations centre in Midland so that iron, crews and logistics move as one system rather than four regional fiefdoms.
Where we work
Operating districts
Permian Basin — Midland & Delaware
8 rigs · HQ district
Our home district and the bulk of the fleet. Multi-well pad development, laterals to 20,000 ft, heavy pad-walking utilisation and 24-hour rig-move crews. Company yard and machine shop.
Eagle Ford — South Texas
3 rigs · Since June 2026
Condensate and gas window development with tight surface constraints and significant landowner interface. South Texas district yard.
Bakken — Williston Basin
2 rigs · Winterised
Fully winterised rig packages, enclosed floors and heated mud systems for continuous operation to −40°F. Williston Basin district yard.
Gulf of Mexico — Shelf & Deepwater
5 rigs · Marine & aviation base
Three jackups on the shelf and two semi-submersibles in deepwater, supported by the marine and aviation divisions. Dedicated Gulf shore base.
Operations centre
One room, eighteen rigs.
Every Ameristar rig streams real-time drilling data to our Midland operations centre over WITSML. Drilling engineers, directional specialists and the fleet maintenance desk sit in the same room, watching the same screens, on a two-hour handover cadence.
That means the pressure trend that looks odd at 0300 gets a second set of eyes before it becomes a well control event, and the top drive that starts drawing extra current gets a part on a truck before it fails.
- 24/7/365 staffed, two-hour formal handover
- WITSML real-time feed shared with the operator
- Predictive maintenance alerts on all major rotating equipment
- Remote directional and geosteering support
- Integrated marine and flight following for offshore assets

How we take work.
Ameristar does not tender publicly and does not accept unsolicited enquiries. Programmes come to us through operators we already work for.
