Privacy notice

This site has no sign-up, no enquiry form and no advertising. It does run a hosting provider's analytics beacon and it does store two preferences in your browser. Both are named below, because a privacy notice that omits them is not one.

1. What this notice covers

This notice covers the public Ameristar website and the secure workspaces reached from it. It does not cover data Ameristar holds about you under a drilling contract, an employment contract or a supply agreement; those are governed by the agreement itself.

2. What the site collects

The site has no sign-up, no newsletter, no enquiry form and no advertising. There is nowhere on the public site to submit personal information, and none is asked for. Three things are nonetheless recorded, and it would be misleading not to name them.

WhatWhyRetention
Server request logs, held by our hosting provider (Cloudflare). These include your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. Serving the page, blocking abuse, and diagnosing faults.Short-term, by the provider
Aggregate page-view counts, collected by the Cloudflare Web Analytics script that our host injects into every page. Knowing which pages are read. It sets no cookie, follows you to no other site, and builds no profile.Aggregate only
Two values stored by your own browser, described in section 4. Remembering your preferences between visits.Until you clear them

Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with an advertising network. There is no third-party tag manager, no social pixel and no session recorder on this domain.

3. Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, which is why you have not been asked to dismiss a cookie banner. Cloudflare may set a cookie of its own where its security products require one to tell a person from a bot.

4. Browser storage

Two keys may be written to your browser's local storage. Both stay on your device.

  • xg.units — whether you last chose oilfield or metric units, so the site can open the way you left it.
  • xg.session and related keys — set only if you sign in to a workspace, so a page reload does not sign you out.

Clearing site data in your browser removes both. Nothing about the site breaks if you do.

5. The secure workspaces

Accounts for the operations and client workspaces are provisioned by Ameristar. There is no self-registration. Sign-in activity is recorded against the session identifier and reviewed.

Two things about those workspaces are stated plainly on the pages themselves and are repeated here. The login is a front-end demonstration gate rather than an authentication system. The figures shown inside are generated for demonstration and are not connected to live SCADA, WITSML, AIS or ADS-B feeds. Do not treat either as production security or production data.

6. Your rights

Because the public site collects no personal information from you directly, there is generally nothing held about you to access, correct or delete. If Ameristar holds your information under a contract, exercise your rights through the counterparty relationship that produced it.

Texas residents may have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and residents of other states or countries may have equivalent rights. Ameristar will honour a valid request it can verify.

7. Children

This is a business-to-business site for a drilling contractor. It is not directed at children and Ameristar does not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes

Material changes to this notice will be published on this page with a new revision number and effective date. The revision in force is the one shown at the foot of this page.

How we take work.

Ameristar does not tender publicly and does not accept unsolicited enquiries. Programmes come to us through operators we already work for.
